Here are the supplies I used to make the Monster Truck Photobooth: I found this awesome monster truck photobooth idea on pinterest, but could never find the original source that it linked to. Wanna know what I am a sucker for, a cute photobooth. You will not meet another person who avoids party games like I do. With a park birthday you get to drop all the stress of games if you want to. Lots of parents roamed around keeping eyes on everyone and I spotted a few games of tag. The kids ran wild and played on the play structures. Monster Truck Birthday Party: Entertainment Once the tables were covered I rolled a toy monster truck over an ink pad and then rolled over the paper to make a tire tread. Since we were partying at the park I wasn’t too worried about decorations, I order these cute race flags online and covered the tables with white craft paper. ![]() I didn’t have emails for all of the school friends, so paper was the way to go. This was seriously one of the hardest decisions, because there are so many adorable choices! Punchbowl has some other cute ideas as well if you prefer to go the digitial route. What would make our lives easier so that we don’t hit a brick wall every time we want to do something? I have sat down to write this article over a dozen times, have had the words clearly in my head but when I have found a quiet moment with my laptop, a wall drops down between what I want to do and actually being able to do it. So how do we cope with all of these demands that can’t help themselves hammering down on us like we’re a nail that just won’t lay flat? Easy, right? Wrong.Īround every corner is a demand waiting to thrust itself upon us. However, we respect that many people identify with this profile and have formed a rich community and body of resources to help others overcome demand avoidance. We believe that PDA exists as a neurodivergent phenomenon, but not that it is exclusive to autistic people. The Aspergian’s members are divided, but our soft position is that for very logical reasons, most autistic people have a degree demand avoidance that relates to anxiety about social differences, sensory processing, executive functioning issues, burnout, and social overwhelm, or from frequent co-occurring conditions like general anxiety, depression, and trauma spectrum disorders. This season it’s intercepting 26.6 percent. A year ago, Miami intercepted 11.9 percent of the passes it defended. And the Hurricanes have more of it this season than last. “It’s not really the substance as much as it is the style,” he said. The chain is like sprinkles that sit on top and decorate the overall product - and that in this case individual players get to enjoy for their contributions. The frosting is winning the turnover battle in a specific game. The cake itself is the substance, the season a team is having and its caliber of play. And in all cases, they take the opportunity to score away from the opponent. Sometimes, turnovers lead directly to points other times, they give an offense advantageous field position. It goes along with larger goals, like competing for a conference championship, because winning the turnover battle in an individual game can be a strong indicator of a team’s success in that game. The turnover chain, Moawad said, fits in well with the idea of a shared-responsibility motivation model. “What we’re seeing more in college athletes and professional athletes is less of the old-school stimulus response - ‘I’m the coach, do what I say, don’t question it, just do it because I tell you to do it.’ There is more of a collective conscious within teams and it’s more of a, I still want discipline, they still want structure and there is still the coach-player relationship, but I think the better organizations and teams, it’s a shared responsibility.” “It is easier if the incentive is part of a larger vision,” Moawad said. Getting a takeaway helps put your team in a better position to win the game. The incentive presented by the turnover chain is both individual - if you force a turnover, you get to wear the cool chain, and your teammates will mob you on the sidelines - but also team-oriented. As Richt has put it, Miami is not the only program in the country to have a specific celebration for a turnover, “but we got the best one.” The idea of incentivizing actions is nothing new, but the form it’s taken with Miami is. It incentivizes competitive behavior, he said, which is something all coaches want. Trevor Moawad, a mental coach who has worked with some of college football’s most successful teams such as Alabama and Florida State, over the past decade, believes so. The advantages that accompany the brilliant marketing and recruiting tool that is Miami’s turnover chain are quite obvious the chain itself has become one of the most talked-about aspects of the 2017 college football season.īut does it translate to the on-field product? But their performance in 2017 also raises two questions: How much of their turnover success is due to preparation - and a little bit of luck - and how much, if any, comes from the motivational effects of the chain? The Hurricanes train their players that ball security and creating turnovers are priorities. It also is tied for second in interceptions with 17, with two of them returned for touchdowns. Miami is tied for first in FBS in turnover margin, +16 on the year. ![]() Every time a turnover happens, teammates go wild, and the home crowd erupts in cheers.Īnd it is happening frequently for the second-ranked and undefeated Hurricanes this season. Miami is synonymous with its spectacularly gaudy and spectacularly awesome turnover chain, which gets ceremoniously placed upon the neck of each Hurricanes player who makes an interception or recovers a fumble. Miami safeties coach Ephraim Banda explains that it’s not just the Hurricanes’ defensive players who are trained in taking the ball from the opposition. ![]() ![]() Eugene Gologursky / Getty Images for Phluid Project Desmond Is Amazing at the Phluid Project Grand Opening on Main New York City. But don’t be waving it around like some hillbilly shouting for help. Don’t just flick the brim, remove it from your noggin so there is no confusion, you’re acknowledging someone. Hat Rule #3: Tip your hat like you mean it. The only exception here is, former mother in-laws, providing she is the one who never thought you were good enough to marry her daughter. Do not wear your cowboy hat in mama’s house. ![]() Except by grandkids they are exempt from this rule, when it comes to grandpa’s hat.īoze says that Hat Rule #2 is iron-clad. Of course, we all know that from a popular country western song, but it bears repeating it just isn’t done. He says that the first rule is, It is not okay to touch a cowboy hat that isn’t yours. I think Boze agrees with that, and I appreciate that he took the time to write down these rules of etiquette. Now, I like wearing a cowboy hat not only is there nothing better for shading your head and neck, it’s a statement about who I am and where I come from. That writer is Bob Boze Bell, an Arizona cowboy who is also the publisher of True West Magazine. One of my favorite writers published a piece that told the rules for wearing a cowboy hat. |
